Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with the Delegation Led by the Committee Chairman of Algerian People’s National Assembly

On April 23, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with a delegation led by Chairman of the Defence Committee of the People’s National Assembly of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Head of the Algeria-Azerbaijan Friendship Group Mr. Garbi Abdelbaset.

Chairperson Sahiba Gafarova, underlined the special roles of the parliaments in the deepening of the relationship, mentioned the sound interaction in place between the two legislative assemblies. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova underlined Algeria’s active engagement in the work of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network established at the initiative of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Mr. Garbi Abdelbaset, Chairman of the Defence Committee of the People’s National Assembly of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, stressed the importance of the relations between the two countries, including their co-operation within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement. This relationship has also created opportunities for the development of bilateral ties.

Besides, there was an exchange of opinions about several other matters of joint interest.
