Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Datuk Mutang Tagal, President of the Senate of the Parliament of Malaysia

On May 1, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Datuk Mutang Tagal, President of the Senate of the Parliament of Malaysia, during his visit to Azerbaijan in the framework of in the VI World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.
Ms. Sahiba Gafarova expressed that the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue had been established on the basis of the Baku Process upon the initiative of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and described the Forum as a significant international platform for intercultural dialogue and open discussions.
The significant positive impact of the joint activities of the two parliaments on the growth of interstate relations was noted. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova mentioned Malaysia's participation in the Conferences of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, which was established at the initiative of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and highlighted the importance of this platform for international inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Mr. Datuk Mutang Tagal, President of the Senate of the Parliament of Malaysia, thanked for the invitation to Baku. President of Senate expressed interest in a continued expansion of the dialogue and cooperation between the legislative assemblies, especially within the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
