Meeting at the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the delegation of the Council of Representatives of the Republic of Iraq

On June 29, Mr. Adil Aliyev, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with the delegation led by Mr. Shakhawan Abdullah Ahmed Talabani, Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Republic of Iraq, visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.

Welcoming the guests, the Deputy Speaker spoke about the permanent support provided by Azerbaijan for peace and mentioned the international calls for action initiated by H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Furthermore, he spoke about the expansion of cooperation between parliaments as a result of the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.

Expressing his deep gratitude for the warm reception, Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Republic of Iraq Mr. Shakhawan Abdullah Ahmed Talabani, expressed his satisfaction with the development of relations between countries. He praised the fact that as the chairing state of the Non-Aligned Movement, Azerbaijan came up with the initiative to create the Parliamentary Network.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on other topics of interest to the parties.
